I am considering relocating to Florida and was told there is a teacher shortage in Orange County and basically Southern Florida. Is this true and would it be easy to get placed at a school in Orange County. Also, is it a decent area to teach - please don't say pay because as an alternative teacher in Illinois I earned 23,000 anything is better than that.....
what do you teach? It is always interesting to see these posts about a "teacher shortage," but the OP doesn't include what she is qualified to teach.

Mark I would say that your first step is to apply for a Florida license. You're much more likely to get hired from out of state with a Florida license in your pocket. Plus, you will know exactly what you're qualified to teach in Florida.
