I'm an elementary teacher with eight years of experience
who is proficient in Spanish, but lacks official
certification.
1)would it be desirable and is it difficult to get ESL or
TEFL certification in NM?
2)How is the job market in albuquerque and santa fe?

1. It is desireable. It used to be very desireable so more
people got it, but it still helps you get jobs-- in fact I
think it's how I got my job. It also gives you a higher
salary. As for getting it, you need about 7 or so courses
