I have a bachelor's degree from UNM in journalism, and now I am considering becoming an elementary school teacher. I've researched online how to do this, but can't seem to get a straight answer on exactly which route to take. I know I have to take the licensure tests, but do I also have to complete one of these "alternative licensure" programs? If so, what exactly is this? If not, how do I go about taking the tests and getting a job as a teacher?
