I have a concern about contracts in Ohio. I am currently at a district. THey are offering me a position for next year. They will give me a contract to sign before the end of the year.

I really want to be able to job search in some other districts. What is the procedure for getting out of a contract over the summer incase I am offered a different position?
Former OH Teacher When I was in Ohio, as I remember July 10 (or somewhere around there) was the date the Board could hold you to your contract. The law says the Board reserves the right to suspend your teaching license for one year after that date for leaving.

Heidi You can accept position and be able to resign by July 11, though each contract will say how many days prior notice of that date.
