Hello,

I am in the process of getting my degree in Elementary Education. I am interested in teaching Kindergarten and know that before you simply had to take the Early Childhood OSAT to be able to teach PK or K. Is that still the case, or do you know have to obtain a separate certificate for Early Childhood Education?
Myiesha You have to take the OGET, OSAT, OPTE in order to teach in this state. Take the OSAT in ECE

Christine I am in my final year at NSU for Elem Ed and I also want to teach Pre-K or K so I have dug deep to find out about this and this is what I have found. In April of 2011 the Governor signed an extension for teachers to get Early Childhood added to their certificate by testing only, the catch is you have to be certified by July 2012.
