Does anyone here know if SC has an ESL add-on or endorsement? What would be involved with getting it? Is there demand for ESL teachers in SC?
Caroline SC does offer add on endorsement for ESOL certification. I am a German teacher currently working on adding ESOL endorsement. I work as an ESOL teacher in Charleston. You can visit scteachers.org and click on certification to find out more about add on subjects.

Good luck!

Alex I went to the scteachers.org website, but I can't find anything there concerning add on certifications or ESOL.

Did you have to take a series of courses? A PRAXIS exam?

Alex So it looks like 15 hours of coursework, a practicum, and an exam.

I wonder how a teacher who does not currently teach ESOL students does the practicum? Do they have to quit their job and go back to school?

Suzan I am looking in to this area and wonder how long it all takes and what the opportunities are here in Charleston. Do you think this is a growing area locally?
