    Common Core standards are either Math or Literacy based.
    There aren't CC history standards that say we have to teach
    the Civil War in 8th grade or anything like that.

    The whole: "we're all reading teachers" thing is still alive
    and well, so Social Science teachers do bump up against CC
    literacy standards all the time and are expected to
    incorporate CC lit standards into their lessons. CC doesn't
    drive instruction like it does Math and English though....
