Transferring years of experience
I live in a state where teachers can only
transfer so many of their years of teaching
for pay purposes. The amount of transfer-
able years varies from county to county.
This practice hurts veteran teachers. The
maximum number of years most counties will
accept is 15. This often denies teachers
of the freedom to relocate within the state.
I've never heard of such a practice before,
and I'm trying to change this practice. I'd
like to hear from teachers throughout the
other 49 states to find out if they're sub-
jected to the same unfair practice or if
they are paid for all years of experience
in public schools. Sign me. Unhappy in Florida,
