    Recipe For Sidewalk Chalk

In small waxed paper dixie cup:

    • 3/4 full dry plaster of paris + dry tempra paint (to match liquid).
    • Mix well with a popcycle stick.
    • Add to this enough liquid (50/50 mixture of bottled tempra and water) to make a very thick paste stir until well mixed.
    • Let set over night.
    • Remove cups and allow to dry at least one more day.
    • Makes great vibrant colors that stay! Over time this chalk will harden even more and be less vibrant.

I use this every year. The kids love to make it.

    Magical Milk Colors

Cover a baking pan or dish with 1/2" milk. In each corner of the pan, dab a few dots of different coloured food colouring. Then place a few drops of liquid dish soap in the middle. Watch the colours "explode". Kids love this!
