    So, I got an effective rating (second year in a row. My
    measure of teaching practices were highly effective but my
    state and local measures were developing. The main reason: a
    lot of the students who brought my rating lower were
    excessive absences, seniors who don't care so much because
    they're seniors or the reading scores of kids who were
    assigned to my cohort. I don't even teach a bunch of them.
    The NY state rating system makes no sense.

    Doctors don't get judged on patients they don't treat.
    Lawyers don't get judged on people who aren't clients.

    We are the most beaten up public officials in NY state.
