I had to comment on this and all the posts about 223 does not
surprise me. I work at a nearby school and we had student with an
IEP that had NO behavior problems at all. The student applied to
223 and was not admitted even though they live across the street
from 223 and had stellar grades. The Superintendent of district 7
contacted our principal and told him to stop sending our students
to 223. He was told to change the student's IEP to include
transportation to our school and he did. Yes it was wrong but
Dr.Gonzalez has a "Godfather" in the DOE that allows him to get
away with a lot of things like this. Most students with an IEP
that are accepted to 223 already have a brother or sister that
already go to the school. Hope this answers your question
