    I am a sub in NYC DOE. I have never gotten a suspension but I
    know some people who have and it is really nothing. The only
    "consequence" you have to deal with is not having any income
    for a while. They will send you something.. Sometimes you have
    to do some workshop. It happens all the time and will NOT ruin
    your career as a teacher if you are going into it. It does not
    go to Albany or anything crazy like that. I know at least 5
    people who have had it done to them. Don't worry about it. If
    you want to ease your mind just contact a UFT rep in the Bronx
    or Manhattan and they will explain it to you. Don't stress it.
