Actually, in addition to 30 credits in your specialization area
(content core) and appropriate CST as Mojo Jojo commented, you'll
need coursework at adolescent developmental level. Here are the
full requirements:
Pathway:Additional Classroom Teaching Certificate (Must hold a
valid certificate)
Requirements:
-Hold a Valid NYS Teaching Certificate
-Content Core - (e.g. Math) - 30 S.H.
-Pedagogical Core: 1) College Coursework EXCLUSIVELY at Student
Developmental Level - Adolescent - Grades 7-12 - 6 S.H.; 2)
College Coursework - Teaching Literacy Skills Methods - 3 S.H.
-Content Specialty Test (CST) - Biology
-Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
-Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
-Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act
-Fingerprint Clearance
