Now too never. If you do the internship, you get a letter
that lets you find a job, you still have to be hired, like any
teacher for any district. In addition you will have to pass
the TeXas content exam in your teaching field so that you
can get a probationary certificate, before you can begin
working. Many districts won't even talk to you if you
haven't passed the content exam.
I know an elementary art intern that has been waiting a
decade and still hasn't gotten an internship. Bilingual ELL
and Sp.Ed interns have the shortest wait.
If you do clinical teaching the placement usually takes a
few weeks to a month at most to arrange.
