Sites For Grades 4 to 8
Here are five sites for teachers of grades 4-8:
4th and 5th Grade Student Research Resources
http://www.learning.caliberinc.com/index.html
There's a section here for students and a link to a teachers' section containing resources by subjects. Resources for grades 1-3 and 6-8 can also be accessed.
A Cybrary for Middle School and Beyond
http://www.learning.caliberinc.com/index6.html
This is the sister site to 4th and 5th Grade Student Research Resources. Well organized links for Middle School students and teachers.
6th Grade Treasure Trove
http://www.occdsb.on.ca/~proj1615/index.htm
Grade 6 teacher and Franklin Institute Online Fellow Karen Walkowiak at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Kanata, Ontario, Canada has created this 6th Grade Treasure Trove as a cyberhaven for 6th grade teachers. It's her way of being able to network with other 6th grade teachers around the world, share ideas online, share and gain teaching tips, and use the Internet to enhance classroom curriculum. If you teach grade 6, surf over here as soon as you can!
Mrs. Seagraves' QUEST Class
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/ Atrium/5924/index.html
Mrs. Seagraves teaches an elementary gifted program called QUEST in Montgomery, Alabama, USA to students in grades K-6. This site features individual student pages showcasing their work, several complete units for teachers, and lots of information about their classroom including Internet projects, field trips, and their desktop publishing business “QUEST Graphics.” At this site you can create a virtual pond, play garden concentration, and lots of other neat games. I found great innovative units here, especially on Ancient Egypt for my own grade 5 class!
W. C. Walker Elementary
http://www.okaloosa.k12.fl.us/walker
Walker Elementary's website provides great teacher, parent, and student resources focused on Pre-K through 5th grade. Many resources updated regularly with sites reviewed for appropriateness and value. Provides links to lesson plans, online math practice, technology how to's, parenting and safe school information, fun and much more. A well organized and useful site.
