Do you teach 4th grade? I was a first year teacher this
year, and I also had to teach NE history with no guidelines
to follow. I was dreading it, especially since I'm not from
Nebraska! My school had purchased the Journey Through
Nebraska textbooks for the students to use, but they are way
above 4th grade level. I went to a teacher supply store and
got a NE history activity book and a theme book on state
history and did some things from there. I also used the
Nebraska trailblazers extensively. I found a website that
has activities and printables from those newspapers. I'm
home for the summer, but could possibly get you some of the
info I used if you need it yet this year. Just let me know.
