It has been several years since I have checked into this chat room. It used to be very active. It seems that it has been silent since 2010, with an exception of purely academic issues. Has some administrative body taken over! Are discussions regarding the trend and realities occurring in schools been banned?
I am a doctoral student who needs to collect data for an advanced quantitative research class. I need help from school administrators and teachers of Math, Science, Social Studies and English to complete a short cultural competency survey. My pilot study seeks to find out if there is a relationship between school administrators' and teachers' level of cultural competency and the academic achievement of minority students who are culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD). Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey by clicking on the link below. All information collected will be kept strictly confidential and the results will not be published. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Is there a blacklist for WV teachers? A friend of mine is having trouble being hired. Always had good reviews, but made a couple of public comments critical of the state BOE. Nothing out of line. Thanks.

No. Pensions/ retirement does not transfer from one state to another. However, you can freeze what you have. Your best course of action, of course, is to contact the retirement board for their official advice.
We serve Pre-K through 5th grade students throughout West Virginia teaching agriculture through Science experiments and Ag related activities.
I am seeking a few teachers, preferably retired and wanting to make some spending money and travel a bit, for our lab. A current WV Teacher certificate, valid Driver's License, and teaching experience is required.
In keeping travel and lodging expenses to a minimum, a teacher from the Eastern Panhandle, Western, and Southern regions of the state would be ideal. We are holding a teacher training at the beginning of August.
