It has been several years since I have checked into this chat room. It used to be very active. It seems that it has been silent since 2010, with an exception of purely academic issues. Has some administrative body taken over! Are discussions regarding the trend and realities occurring in schools been banned?

The county I work for was just taken over by the state. As teachers what should we expect? I have heard rumors that the super and most of the board will be fired. PCteacher I am in a county currently taken over by the state. Our super. was replaced and many county office staff positions were added. No one has been in to observe me besides my principal walk throughs which happened before the take over. My principal has more to do, but I haven't really seen any more paper work or duties besides the overwhelming amount w...See More

No. Pensions/ retirement does not transfer from one state to another. However, you can freeze what you have. Your best course of action, of course, is to contact the retirement board for their official advice.
