Re: Treasures Reading Series with Guided Reading Time
    Posted by deb on 6/30/08

My concern with the schedule is that in a WHOLE day of
school how little kids are actually with real reading.
Allington and Cunningham talk a lot about time with text.
Your plan is not bad or good, it just is a time issue. Why
if school is 6 hours, aren't kids actually reading more?
Where is SSR? Did I miss it? Kids need to read every day.
Friday's test in GR means that they don't actually read. If
we test them, we are not teaching them. Idealistic? Yes.

I am not being critical, I am concerned. deb
