The Revision Toolbox: Teaching Techniques That Work by
Georgia Heard is an excellent resourse. When students put a
piece of writing away for a few days(weeks), they are able
to look at it more critically when they revisit the piece.
At the time they write the original draft they've go so much
energy invested it is difficult to look at the piece
critically.
I've been writing my thesis for several weeks and my best
revisions occur when I've take a bread from the piece.
