The Collins Writing program is a crock, a way of dumbing down

Our school also adopted Collins across the curriculum, K-12,
WITHOUT consulting the teachers. We knew instantly that it
would not improve writing skills, but instead of listening to
the teachers, the superintendent and principal mandated that
all teachers use Collins. We are checked periodically to make
sure that we are completing our quotas. Writing scores
continually decline at the high school level, but the
administration demands that the teachers implement even more
Collins writing.
While the program might be good at the elementary and middle
school levels, I'm not sure, it is detrimental at the high
school level for any student who is college bound.
