I would suggest asking the student to teach you basic greetings
- or ask the terp.. . . both would be eager to show and
encourage you. When they are signing, note the facial
expressions and eyebrow position, as well as mouth shapes.
The rest of the class would also benefit from learning basic
phrases - 'good morning', 'snack time', 'love it', 'good job',
'lunch time', 'focus/pay attention', 'potty need', 'stop now',
'see you tomorrow'. . .etc.
