Re: interpreter role
Posted by dog has bad ears on 11/24/07

Wait.... are you saying that one person has two roles:
interpreter and teacher of the deaf? Is that person
certified to do both jobs? That wouldn't happen in my
district. When student is working with teacher, the teacher
can sign for self. But when student is in general ed
classroom, an interpreter should be there to give the access
to the curriculum. Student has right to ask for meeting but
also should have the right to have an interpreter who is not
the one she is talking about. Talk about conflict of
    interest.....

The TTY/TDD should be in a place where access is always
available. Put pressure on the admin to have it moved to the
    office.

Curious to know if all the fire alarms are flashing lights?
