I'd say your ace in the hole is probably German. Until a few
years ago, most DoDDS schools hired local native speakers to
teach the languages of the host countries. However, since
DoDDS is now conforming to the standards of "High Performing"
schools, they are required to hire only teachers with U.S.
teaching credentials (or the equivalent coursework necessary
for a DODEA credential). That means that all the local
nationals lost their jobs or were relegated to the middle
schools where they now teach elective culture classes. This,
in turn, has opened positions for stateside hires in high
school foreign language. I'd imagine there aren't a whole lot
of teachers credentialed in German, and those positions that
might open certainly won't be in the Pacific. It might take a
couple/few years, but if you keep your application up to date,
the call may come some day.
