On the salary schedule, increases are listed by "steps". Are those single years?

haha If the give you credit for those 10 years (which is the max you can get) then you should be on Step 11 since you start on Step 1 (if I am remembering correctly.

Yes, you would start on Step 11 of the DoDDS salary schedule.

wanderer It sure did--and thank you for taking the time to educate me! Unfortunately, it also makes me a less desirable hire because I'm more expensive than a normal civilian, especially with a master's plus. Good luck and THANK YOU for all of the advice you provide we strangers on this board.
