Background check

After I had my interview and references were called, my job knew that I was probably hired. I also needed them to sign one more form after I received the tentative offer, and they basically put the pressure on for me to admit that I had accepted. I know that you aren't really supposed to let them know until you have official orders, but they were willing to work with me and gave me a month and a half before my replacement would take over. Now, I am out of a job and the only thing holding me back is my background check. I have called several times, and they tell me the investigative company hasn't written them back yet with a status. I also know that none of my references have been called yet. Is anybody else in the same boat as me? How long did it take for your BI to be completed? Is anyone else still waiting to start? By the way, my interview was at the very beginning of August

wanderer Same. My interview was August 12 and got the tentative offer on August 25. I gave two weeks' notice so my last day was Sept 9. I thought that was appropriate since the first time I went into DoDEA I got travel orders in 11 days and was overseas in less than three weeks. haha Hang in there everyone. What you are going through is not that unusual with DoDDS (unfortunately). It would be very unusual to be rejected/have a tentative offer withdrawn at this point in the process. It will pass, you will get your orders and can apply for a 3 month salary advance as soon you get to your new post.

niknak By the way I had my interview on July 1st, my tentative offer on July 20th, and accepted offer on the 21st. I returned all the required paperwork by August 10th. I kept asking about not receiving my fingerprint card. Turns out that was an oversight. My fingerprints and e-Qip were completed by 8/19 and I'm still waiting.
