    Re: after school program help?

I had a creative thinking club. It was nice because so many
things can fall under that category. Sometimes we did brain
teasers, played games, did crafts. We made our own Nim games by
putting stickers on bottle caps. Then we looked for strategies
on how to always win. Made our own mancala games with egg
cartons and fava beans, pennies, rocks and again played to try
to figure out how to win every time. Holiday reader theater's
are fun too. Posters for special times like school safety week
is coming up. You can make nature chains and decorate trees for
birds for winter. Make cards for different times of year. Can
be pop-up ones. Can even drop off at hospital for community
service project. We also made joke books. We reasearched jokes
on the computer, typed them, did a simple pen sketch to
illustrate. I copied the books and bound them. Then I dropped
them off at the children's hospital for kids who were in the
hospital over Christmas. I also like the math game 24. It comes
in all different levels of difficulty.

Chess team is fun too--can even arrange little competitions with
    other schools.

I have done Odyseey of the Mind and it can not be done as once a
    week club.
