Re: Messed up AC today!
Posted by Janet on 5/04/08

Are you sure PROMETRIC is offering and charging candidates who
    want to practice?

IMHO, it is highway robbery for PROMETRIC to charge candidates
    $30.00 to access a hands-on tutorial...is it $30 for unlimited
    use? Or $30.00 for a one-time shot?

I am really angered about this! It costs candidates upwards
of $3,000 to pursue this process and for PROMETRIC to charge
    an extra $30.00 is unconscionable!

    http://www.nbpts.org/tutorial/index.html

This is the link to the PowerPoint slide show...be sure to
look at it carefully BEFORE you go to the AC. On or about the
6th slide, you'll begin to see what your computer screen will
look like as you begin testing...3 screens--the prompt
questions to which you are to respond will come up in the
upper right hand screen (there will be anywhere from 3-6
different questions as you continue to hit the NEXT button).
The scenarios, topics, etc., will be in the upper left hand
screen--be prepared to scroll to see it all. You type your
responses on the lower wide screen.

Notice the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons. If you choose PREVIOUS,
it will automatically take you back to that particular
question AND answer screen. If you move on to the NEXT
screen, you'll be taken to the next question and answer screen
    for that AC exercise.

Pay close attention to slide #13...STAY AWAY FROM QUIT-always
choose RETURN TO WHERE I WAS. Once you hit QUIT, you cannot
    go back to that assessment.

Slide 16 shows you what you HAVE responded to and what you
    have NOT responded to.

STAY AWAY from the PROCEED button unless you are 110% sure you
have finished answering every single prompt question for that
particular AC exercise. PROCEED is like EXIT...there is NO
    RETURN!

On the SURVEY at the end, if you have a chance to type in
anything, please request that the hands-on tutorial be
    restored on the NBPTS website.

When you arrive at the AC, take time to look closely at the
TUTORIAL. The more you know about the technology, the more
you'll be able to concentrate on your prompt questions and
    content.

    Good luck everyone!
