Re: teachers need to stand up together

My daughter found this site while attempting to look for the news
article that states that the schools in our district do not meet
the NCLB act. She was a little shocked, but I think it was good
for her to stumble upon. She said something to me that was really
interesting. She said.."Making changes show effort" I asked her
how she could think that her teachers don't make effort was beyond
me. There it was..my own 13 year old pointing out the most
obvious evidence that not much as changed in education... She is
in 8th grade and her 3rd grade sister did every single thing she
had done when she was in 3rd grade.. straight down to the Turkey
hand print with the exact same sentences in the book. Perhaps the
stress of NCLB could be alleviated by a little bit of creativity.
Teachers are hard workers. But instead of knocking on the door of
the Washington...Knock on the door of your district office..They
are the ones that give you the same worksheets and the same books
and the same everything every year... Make them make the changes
needed for you and your students to succeed
