We used to have a 10 minute recess in the am. 20 min recess at
noon, and a 10 minute recess in the afternoon. Now we have 20
minutes recess at lunch. Sad thing is, those who need recess do
not get it. Kids need a break away from heavy content
learning...processing time. Now they are forced to sit in
situations where adults do not...Expecting kids to sit for 90
minutes to 2 hours for direct instruction is child abuse. Adults
get better breaks than that.
