    What gets me is that these studens have already qualified under
    state and federal guidelines to have a disability that prevents
    them from learning at the same rate as regular ed students. It
    seems to me that something is not right in making these students
    take grade level tests when they are performing 2 or more years
    behind their grade. If it were my student, I would absolutely
    be looking into the legality of this. I'm surprised more sp. ed
    parents don't opt out their students from the main stream end of
    year testing. Now, I'm no expert in this area of NCLB, so maybe
    that wouldn't do any good if parents did that, but something
    needs to be done. Teachers aren't being listened to, but
    parents will be.
