    Re: Teacher Loan Forgiveness
Posted by Michelle Johnson on 2/25/09

I am just as frustrated. I DO qualify for the program, but am not
receiving the funds because of a simple glitch in the system. I
worked for 6 years in a charter school that was a 98% free and
reduced lunch school, but the Dept of Ed cannot list it as a title one
school for the year 2001 because it was not open in the year 2000.
My 6th year at this school was in the media center, which they don't
count as teaching. . . ironically, the reason for my loan was to get
my masters in this field. Needless to say, I'm still fighting the
fight to get what I believe is rightfully mine, or what was promised
to me. I don't understand why these banks promise and never follow
through. Is this what corporate America is all about? I guess
that's why we belong in an honest profession such as education.
