I was in college in 97 and 98 and graduated August 7, 1998. I too think
it's awful that I can't get forgiveness for my loan. I hadn't even
graduated yet with my prior loans and wasn't required to start paying
them back. Teaching will be in a real crunch one day because we don't
make enough to pay student loans. If Obama really wants to help, then he
needs to address this situation. All other professions make a lot more
money than we'll ever make and they can get forgiveness for their loans.
