I am a new GED teacher, and looking for lesson strategies that work for students with varied abilities and emotional needs. Currently, they are working on the different pages of the math textbooks based on how they progress. They get help from peers if I am busy. I walk around to help everyone, but do not know if this is the most effective use of time. I can go over the new concept on the board addressing a group of students, but not the whole class because some are ahead of the game. This is just about the math. When it comes to reading, I have students at three different levels. I find it difficult to find time even for students at the basic level. Please give me tips how to plan the curriculum, lesson time, and manage behaviors. Thank you.
