New lab running the before mentioned system software. We
have an administrator and then a generic student login.

I understand the 2ndary users can be locked out of certain
software. How do I do all this? I know to be logged in as
the adminstrator, but I want to keep my kids out of a lot
of the different software and then open them up as they
learn more. I only see a few of the preinstalled software
on my securites list. (We used to have foolproof and I
loved it!)

Another question. I installed Mavis Beacon as the admin.
Then the students use it and it works but gives error
messages. If you run the program as an admin, there are no
errors. What do I need to do?

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

as the student machines.

You can have other software (admin or single copy software)
but your master OSX SERVER Administration machine must have
an exact version/path match to student client machines

You make user groups or computer groups and
control the permissions from the Master account.

Your building or district needs to get/use a copy of Server Admin
Tools that come with OSX server to do the types of things you want
to do correctly (Advanced e.g. non-generic user profiles).

AFAIK OSX server is supposed to support Windows boxes, do not know
about any Win product that would support OS X bo...See More
