I have a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 My problem is that I have several photos in the iphoto trash but every time that I try to delete them the program crashes. I think that I am nearly out of memory and need to empty the trash, but I'm not sure how if it keeps crashing. Thanks for any suggestions.
Neal Delete browser cash. Any old movies, documents Podcasts, play lists in iTunes Empty trash. Repair permissions, delete library cache and system library cache. Restart. Empty trash.

Download and run Cocktail.

Now try to empty the iPhoto trash.

What happens?

Laura Thank you. I have followed your directions. iphoto still crashes. I'll keep trying to delete files to see if I can free up more hard disk space. On 2/13/11, Neal wrote: > Delete browser cash. Depending on what version there are different steps to use e.g. Quit iPhoto, if it’s open.

Hold down the Command and Option keys as you click the iPhoto icon.

The “Rebuild Photo Library” dialog appears.

Select the “Examine and repair iPhoto Library file permissions” checkbox. For information about the remaining checkboxes, visit the iPhoto Support website.
