    Yes, in Houston, TX HISD is always looking for teachers, but BEWARE.
    You do not want to work for HISD. Houston is a rapidly growing city
    and there are many other school districts in Houston proper and in
    surrounding areas. These other school districts are a better choice.
    Texas needs teachers desperately.

    An other thing to point out is that finding a teaching job also can
    depend on what area you want to teach. Teachers of reading, langauge
    arts, English, etc. are not as in demand at math, science, special ed
    and English as a second langugage. I taught English as a second
    language for 11 years. All you have to do is take a test here in
    Texas to teach ESL. You may have to take a class or two to learn
    enough to pass the test, but worth it if your background is in reading
    or language and you can't get a job.
