Aloha,
I'm pleased to join the TeachersNet Brain-Based Education
Chatboard and Mail Ring. I don't know everyone out there,
so let me introduce myself.
Daniel S. Janik MD PhD (Education-Linguistics) Director of
American Academic Programs Intercultural Communications
College 1601 Kapiolani Blvd #1000 Honolulu, HI 96814 Phone

Mail Ring email: dascot@gmail.com
As a physician, my interest was in psychological recovery
from trauma/abuse; my PhD dissertation was "A
Neurobiological Theory and Method of Language Acquisition,"
which was published under the same title by LinCom Europa.
I advanced the specialized theory to one addressing
teaching/learning in general which was published as "Unlock
the Genius Within: Neurobiological Trauma, Teaching and
Transformative Learning" (Rowman & Littlefield).
Currently I'm working with the neurobiology of teaching and
learning with special emphasis on contemporary teaching and
transformative learning pathways (they are
neurobiologically different and incur different assets and
liabilities).
Transformative learning (curiosity-based, discovery-driven,
mentor-assisted) is of great interest to me and I'm working
on a book describing a plausible neurobiological pathway as
well as it characteristics and application in the classroom
now. I look forward to hearing from educators with similar
interests.
I'll be hosting a web-Chat on Teacher's Net on June 29 from
noon to 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (USA).
Best wishes and Aloha, Dan Janik
