What do you do to have a good last day of the year? The students are: excited, anxious, proud, silly, loud, energetic and sad. Even after 167 days of procedures and routines the last day is often a disappointment. Is it because there is nothing routine about emptying desks and saying good-bye for 10 weeks? What have my colleagues done for a good, memorable, and managed last day of school? THANKS
Leah You don't say what age you teach, but perhaps they could write a letter to themselves. You could have them brainstorm what they are looking foreword to in the next school year and what goals they might have for the summer before they write their letter.
