I suspect the racial issue is huge in this situation and goes beyond just
learning class control. I live near a major city and know of some
outstanding white teachers who were run out of inner city city schools by
parents simply because they were not of color. In one situation the kids
loved the teacher and their math scores were tops...it was the parents
that were the problem. This doesn't always happen, but sometimes it does
