I do my morning message as one of my first activities. I write
2 sentences. We echo and choral read. We count the words and
letters in each sentence and compare which sentence has the
most/least letters and words. We circle "popcorn" words (I try
to use these words frequently in the message) and underline the
letter we are focusing on that day. My "popcorn" words are the
first 50 words on the Dolch sight word list. We do lots of fun
things to spell the popcorn words.
