One day the school's water supply was cut after lunch. You know how you can get even thirstier when you know there is no water? Temps were also high.

My small class of 6th IG students were thirsty, as was I. They saw the unopened bottle of cold water I had on a filing cabinet(brought one of two from home frozen, which had thawed during the day).

They told me it would be ok with them if I drank my cold bottled water. Great bunch of caring kids.

I told them that there was no way I would drink water while they had none. I think this made an impression on them, because they knew I meant it.

My solution was to go upstairs to the teacher work/break room(NO CHAIRS, so no lounging) and get cups for my kids. I opened the bottle and we ALL had some cold water to drink.

I taught some absolutely wonderful kids during my career.
