Ok so I am a lead teacher in my 18-24 month old class, I have has 18 in my class then all of a sudden a few transitioned up so now I have 9 and that is with 3 new ones, Texas ratio is 9:1 for 18-23 months... Well I have the 9 so yeah it's just me and they are floating my assistant around.... I have one biter, and 3 new ones and one just got back from a 3 weeks vacation to Israel.... I have to change diapers at 8am,10am,100pm 3pm and 5 pm and I need help on what to entertain them with so I don't have anymore boo boos :( I have a boo boo everyday and the director is getting mad at me because she believes I should be able to change diapers and redirect the child that is acting up while I have a kid on the changing table.....

I have tried sitting them at the table reading a book while I sing happy and u know it. I have tried coloring, I have tried shaving cream, play dough, everything but every single time one kid desides he wants to be a ninja while the other is trying to jump o...See More
Ash M.A,(Different one) Look up the rules and regs and report them if you are out of ratio. Ratios are a state law. Your position may be a done deal (politics) but at least you can stick up for the kids. Toddlers have no fear, want to challenge their bodies, and are prone to serious injuries. msmichelle I would ask your director to have a meeting with you, ask her to mentor you and advice you on how you can handle the class better, give you some tips. I do not understand how she can just say you need to handle the class better, ummmm she the director she needs to mentor you and help you if you need it.
