Since you offered no information about the model of your Mac, I had
to ask, some have none, some have one or the other, some have both.
Mac OS is not really set up to use USB2 for certain tasks,
though newer models are more USB2 Friendly.
There's no point in buying a backup drive that uses a communications
protocol that your Mac doesn't play well with.
