You know how kids are fascinated by social media, and therefore
they spend hours constructing their Facebook pages. Why not
find a free online website building site where kids can build
heir own websites about their favorite topic. I'm not sure what
website would be best for this, but I do know that there are a
few out there. Wix.com comes to mind, but not sure if it's
free. But that's the idea.
Of course, you would need to set up rules that there will is no
personal information about these kids on their websites. They
strictly are setting up an informational website about their
topic. Marking would entail structure and content. Structure
could be as simple as a five page website: Introduction (home
page), an 'about' page, different topics.
Kids are smart online, if given the tools. I can see them
getting quite involved in this. The result is their own
website. And this is a tool that they can bring into adult life.
Just an idea
