I am sure if I completely understand your situation, but I
will give it a try. From what I gather from your post, you
are already certified in one area. Did the process of getting
your certification not include the required number of ed
classes? I am currently getting my initial cert in French are
teaching a private school and did not find any programs that
required me to have any ed classes in my background (which I
didn't before starting my masters). The only programs that
generally require previous ed class are reading specialists
programs and other for administration, but the requirements
are implied in the period of previous teaching certification.
If you don't have a master's, you generally need one to get
professional certification, so I would go for the masters,
especially since you have a good deal of experience. If you
could tell us what area that you are looking for the
certification and what schools you are thinking about.
