Do they have the money to register for the exams??
Why did you find out 'too late'? You need to make sure these
kids register - offer to sit down with them and register them
but can they afford it?
There's a lot here that's worthy of question and one question
would be - is this the first time this has happened or are
you new to the school? There's a systems problems here - it's
not on the kids. Free lunch kids tend not to be very informed
about SATS - no one in their families ever took them.
Your school should be doing the better job here. Do you gather
your juniors and talk to them about SATS? When you found out
these kids didn't SATS as juniors, then what did you do?
Whatever you didn't do, next year do it. And in the meantime,
there are schools that DO not require SATS or ACTS. Go to
fairtest.org and find the list.
