1. Don't wait for an advertised opening. If you wait for the ad, it's
already been filled. Apply at anyplace that offers online ed.
2. Find out who offers online ed and GED. In this state, that's the
baliwick of community colleges, but a very few 4 year colleges offer
limited programs. Be aware, some colleges separate the GED from the
college; I don't even know the GED instructors at my college!
3. Instructors are hired through the application/resume/transcript
process, whether for full time, adjunct, online instruction. Pull together
your resume and transcripts, then view the college website for the hiring
process. Remember, submit even if there's no listed job opening.
4. Besides GED, you might also be qualified to teach developmental classes.
