I teach math for the county's online high school and we get
paid per student. Right now I only have 2 students enrolled
in the course. I'm new onboard, but from what I've heard,
this is common for the second semester.

While I have the course material up and ready to go, we
still have to have office hours at least 2x a week and I'll
have to drive about 35 mi one way to administer the midterm
and final. Even though a colleague said she'd sit there with
my students, the administrator wants us to have the face time.

I'm considering not teaching the next semester with all of
this to take into consideration. I will teach in the summer
and Fall, but I'm thinking for less than $500 (before
taxes), it's not worth it.

Any thoughts?
