Re: Speed Grading
Posted by LOL I know what you mean! on 1/14/08

I speed read and type over 100wpm with 90% accuracy. I do
copy/paste writing and APA comments. In fact I have those set up
on macros so that all I do is hit one key for each specific
comment. Here are some of the comments I use a LOT!! [my macros
also put those comments in blue text]

    Passive voice

    Incorrect word choice

    Apostrophe with possessive nouns

Errors in use and/or placement of citations. Author/date begins
and page number ends quote or paraphrase.

    Always write out contractions

    Pronoun antecedent agreement

These are just a few of about 35 comments I have programmed. Al
I do is hit one key (different one for each comment) and they're
    automatically inserted in the paper.

After I quickly skim for writing and APA and insert comments,
then I go back and read again for content. I type questions in
the paper where needed for clarification. Then I type about a
paragraph at the end to summarize. I also use rubrics so it's
easy to highlight areas and put in a grade.
