Senior students have to write a short narrative as a module for final examination.

We have looked at loads of examples of short stories; explored plot management; many technical issues, especially sentence structure and accurate punctuation; most especially, we have examined the importance of strong word choices. STILL some of their practice stories are inaccurate, wordy and waffly.

Do any of you have any ideas for how to make their writing more precise and economic? Thanks.
